Tanzschriften/Tanzbeschreibungen flüchtige Bewegungen im Wandel ihrer Aufzeichnung | Dance notation/dance description the changing modes of notating ephemeral movement

was in Bewegung ist. Was überträgt sich von Bewegung in Schrift? An
Movement notation is a basis for scientific reflection on dance. It serves a
theoretical as well as a reconstructional process of re-embodying dance movement.
The first forms of notation documentation which will be illustrated in concept,
and construction of notation systems date from the 15th century. Word abbreviations,
floor patterns and stick figures shed light on the particular perspective onto
movement and the specific implicit understanding at the time: - scripts-images/
images-scripts of movement, fix what has been in motion before. What can be
transferred from movement to written notation? In what moment does movement
become perceivable as movement? How can something that is never stationary come
to a stand still? How can something that cannot be caught be captured? This
presentation is moving from the early beginnings of notation to contemporary
ways of generating word-image entities. The main focus will be on ephemeral
dimensions versus scripting, dance versus notation and movement versus standstill.
